If there was any doubt about why you should be adding exercise to your regular routine, a new study will eliminate all doubt. The study, published in The Journal of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers, and Prevention, followed 70,000 postmenopausal women and showed a reduction in the risk of breast cancer from walking 7 hours per week; regardless of weight or weight gain during the study.
The risk was reduced by 14% and adding any additional, more strenuous, activity brought the total risk reduction to 25%. If you are inactive – now is the time to make a change. Adding walking to your day is an easy way to get started.
If you are a patient at the Woman’s Clinic in Mississippi be sure to talk to your doctor before upping your routine to include a more strenuous exercise.
